A Little About Myself
How I Became a Pet Sitter
My career in the pet industry began in 2016 when I started dog walking and pet sitting on the Central Coast of NSW whilst working as a private investigator for insurance companies (I know, a complete change!). I decided, in 2017, to complete my Cert 3 in Animal Studies (Vet Nursing) as a mature aged student and obtained work placement as a vet nurse within a clinic. I gained valuable experience over the 12 months that provided me with further insight into animal care and enabled me to gain experience in administering medications, first aid and basic nursing duties of cats and dogs.
At the beginning of 2018 I took a risk and decided to follow my passion of animals and leave the insurance industry altogether. I obtained a position within at a vet clinic in Manly, NSW. Since working at the clinic I found there was a need for dog walkers and pet sitters in this area. In March 2018 I decided to start up my own registered business complete with insurance and a police check and make the most of it doing something I absolutely love along side my job at the vet clinic.
I have since relocated to Melbourne in November 2018. I have decided to work solely on my business and continue to offer pet services covering suburbs within a 10km radius of our location in Brunswick West.
